Plan For Fire Service Training Complex Moves Forward

The plan to build a state-of-the-art training facility for firefighters has moved forward.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service has submitted a planning application to create it in Billesdon, on a former council depot site on Goulby Road.

How the new training centre would look
The £7.6m facility would help firefighters train for a wide range of incidents and the complex will include ‘advanced operational zones’, developed in-line with the latest recommendations from the Grenfell Tower public enquiry.
On-call firefighters based in the village would also relocate to the site for the current fire station on Rolleston Road.
Harborough District Council will consider the planning application.
