Free Parking In Support Of ‘Shop Local’ Campaign

There is free parking in Market Harborough today to encourage people to ‘shop local’ in the run-up to Christmas.

Charges are being waived in all of the council car parks on the next three Saturdays.

The initiative by Harborough District Council aims to support the town’s shops and businesses and starts on Small Business Saturday – a national campaign urging shoppers to use independent retailers.

Drivers can park for free for up to four hours in the town’s short stay car parks and all day in long stay car parks.

You will still need to obtain a free ticket from pay and display machines by entering your vehicle registration number and pressing the green ‘issue’ button, or by obtaining a free parking session on the Pay by Phone app.

There is also free parking in Lutterworth on Saturdays in the run-up to Christmas.
