Crowds Cheer On Rugby Star In Sibbertoft

Crowds turned out in Sibbertoft to cheer on former rugby league star Kevin Sinfield during the penultimate leg of his big charity challenge.

The ex-England international is running 50km a day for seven consecutive days in memory of friend and team-mate Rob Burrow, who died of Motor Neurone Disease in June.

The ‘7 in 7’ challenge has so far raised nearly £700,000 for seven MND charities.

Sibbertoft was the half-way point of today’s route from Northampton to Leicester and Sinfield used the Red Lion pub to switch from the colours of Northampton Saints to  Leicester Tigers, as he paid tribute to both rugby clubs.
