Football Club Is Pride Of Town

Harborough Town fans say they couldn’t be prouder after the team’s heroic performance in the FA Cup.

The Bees took Reading all the way to extra time before bowing out of the competition yesterday.

Despite being over 100 places below their opponents in the football pyramid, Harborough more than matched their League One opponents and came close to securing a big FA Cup shock.

Over 3,200 Harborough supporters made the trip to Berkshire to witness the second round thriller and were loud and proud throughout the game.

The match finished 3-3 in normal time, after Harborough twice took the lead through goals from Freddie Robinson and Riley O’Sullivan, before Kai Tonge scored in the 86th minute to take the game into extra time.

It was then heartbreak for The Bees as the home side went on to win 5-3.

It was the furthest Harborough had ever got in the competition and add to the excitement of the day, former Brazilian international Sandro made his debut for The Bees in midfield.
