Jobs To Go At Asda’s Magna Park George HQ

Jobs are to go at Asda’s clothing brand headquarters near Lutterworth.
475 staff will be made redundant at the supermarket’s George base at Magna Park and its head office in Leeds, but it has not confirmed how many workers will be affected at each site.
Asda says the job losses represent just less than 10 per cent of the retailer’s head office workforce and the decision comes as part of plans to ‘redefine roles and accountabilities to remove duplication’ and to ‘simplify structures’.

A letter shared with staff from chairman Lord Stuart Rose and board director Rob Hattrell said: “Change is never easy and is unsettling, but the executive team believe it is necessary to enter 2025 in a stronger position, fully focused on serving our customers, delivering our ambitions and driving long-term growth.”
Asda is also ordering staff back to the office for at least three days a week following a review of hybrid working.
The George HQ opened on Magna Park in 2009.
