Dozens Of Drivers Clocked Speeding During Community Checks

Over 80 drivers were caught speeding on two main roads in and out of Market Harborough during checks by volunteers.

The Community Speed Watch scheme ran for two weeks on Rockingham Road and Kettering Road in Little Bowden.

Checks were carried out at various times of the day by trained volunteers.

Drivers clocked breaking the 30mph limit will be sent a warning letter from Leicestershire Police, although no formal action will be taken.

It was the first time the initiative had run in the town, with the locations chosen due to community concerns about speeding and signs placed along both routes informing drivers of the checks.
