Woman Arrested After Serious Crash Released Under Investigation

A woman arrested after a serious crash near Newton Harcourt on Tuesday has been released under investigation.
The 57-year-old was held on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving while unfit through drink or drugs and driving while over the prescribed limit.
A woman in her 20s is continuing to receive treatment in hospital following the collision on Newton Lane, close to the boarding kennels.
It happened just after 11.15am and involved a grey Volkswagen T-Roc and a black Hyundai Tucson.

Police are continuing to appeal for information as enquires into the crash continues.
Detective Constable Emma Mitchell, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU), said: “Our investigation to establish the circumstances that led to the collision occurring is in its early stages and I’d urge anyone who can help to get in touch.
“I would like to speak to anyone who was in the area and has a dashcam or who saw the collision occur. If you saw either vehicle prior to it happening, then please contact police too.”
