Candidates Revealed Ahead Of General Election

Candidates who will be standing at the General Election in the Harborough, Oadby and Wigston constituency are being revealed.
Conservative Neil O’Brien, who has been are area’s MP since 2017, has confirmed he will be seeking re-election on July 4th.
Phil Knowles, Leader of Harborough District Council is standing as the Liberal Democrat candidate.
Hajira Piranie is the Labour candidate, Darren Woodiwiss is standing for the Green Party, Danuta Jeeves for Reform UK and Robin Lambert is the SDP (Social Democratic Party) candidate.
Other candidates may still be announced.
The Harborough area has always been considered a safe seat for the Conservatives and there has been a Tory MP here since 1950.
Neil O’Brien was re-elected at the last General Election in 2019 with a majority of over 17,000, winning 55% of the vote.
