Harborough Runner Gears Up For 35th Marathon

A veteran Market Harborough runner  is gearing up to compete in his 35th Marathon this weekend – in Denmark.

73-year-old Bill Kerr, a member of the Harborough Athletics Club, is taking part in Sunday’s Copenhagen Marathon, just 14 days after completing the iconic London Marathon with over 50,000 others.

Bill, who continued running despite a heart operation 13 years ago, said the run in the capital was an amazing experience:

Bill, who is always effectively supported by his wife Claire, has taken part in a number of the world’s major marathons since his operation – including New York City and Chicago in the USA and Valencia in Spain, where he ran his quickest recent time of under 4 hours 29 minutes in 2022.
