A new storyboard detailing some of Market Harborough’s wartime past has been installed in the town’s Memorial Gardens.
It features information about the gardens, the War Memorial on The Square and the World War One Portico on Coventry Road.

The addition is part of Harborough District Council’s aspirations to foster community engagement and preserve the town’s heritage.
Cllr Simon Galton, Deputy Leader, said: “Introducing this storyboard will help educate people about Market Harborough’s wartime past and ensure the lives of our fallen military personnel are never forgotten.
“I am pleased we are able to promote the town’s historical significance through this project.”
Some other ageing information signs have been removed as part of the work, which was supported by nearly £1,000 from the government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
