SwiMarathon Raises £10,000 For Good Causes

Over 150 swimmers helped raise £10,000 for good causes in Market Harborough over the weekend.
34 teams from schools, sports clubs and other groups took part in the SwiMarathon at Harborough Leisure Centre, with participants swimming in relay for 50 minutes, covering a total distance of 73.6km during the two-day event.
The event which was also supported by local businesses was organised by Market Harborough Rotary Club and President Les Dodd praised all those involved, including the schools:

HFM was proud to host the event and provide music to help keep the swimmer motivated.
Tamsyn Williams is a teacher at Meadowdale Primary School and coordinated the school’s involvement:
Money raised will be shared between local community organisations and worthy causes, as well as supporting international Rotary charities.
Groups can now apply for a grant by completing an application form, which can be obtained by email from Rotarian Chris Etherington at chrispy143@gmail.com or by calling 07778 120039.
The closing date for applications is April 1st.
