Kibworth Charity Helps Hospital’s Appeal Reach Target

A big fundraising appeal to upgrade the chemotherapy suite at Leicester Royal Infirmary has reached its target thanks to the efforts of a couple from Kibworth.

£700,000 has been raised to refurbish the area and install six additional chairs, which will enable 4,000 more chemotherapy treatments each year.

Andy and Sally Anderson came up with the idea of the work and raised £200,000 towards the target through their charity GEMS, with the remainder raised by the Leicester Hospitals Charity.

GEMS was set-up by the couple in 2012 after they supported four close friends through cancer treatment at the hospital.
