Appeal After Driver Seriously Injured In A14 Crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously injured in a crash on the A14 near Naseby last night.

He was driving a Ford Focus car which was involved in collision with another Ford Focus and a VW Transporter van between junction one and two on the eastbound carriageway, just before 9pm.

The 38-year-old was trapped in the wreckage and released by firefighters before being taken to hospital.

Two children were also taken the hospital as a precaution.

The stretch of road was closed for several hours as a result of the crash and a spokesperson for Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service told HFM: “Fire crews from Guilsborough and Rothwell attended the scene and removed three doors from one of the vehicles to rescue a man who was trapped.

“Once he had been released from the vehicle, he was taken to Walgrave Hospital by ambulance.

“Two children had managed to walk free from one of the vehicles and were taken to Kettering General Hospital via ambulance.”
