Road Set To Re-Open After Bridge Repaired

The route linking Fleckney with Great Glen is set to re-open to traffic sometime next week.
Station Road has been shut since the week before Christmas when a van driver collided with a bridge over the canal near Wistow, causing major damage to the structure.

The road is set to re-open next week
Leicestershire County Council says repairs are nearly complete and expect the road to re-open by March 1st.
Another nearby road – Newton Lane – has been shut since last October and was due to be open again next month, although work to upgrade a rail bridge has been halted, meaning the closure is to be extended:
