Illegal Immigrants Found In Lutterworth Were From Africa

A group of illegal immigrants found in the back of a lorry near Lutterworth a week ago were from North-East Africa.
20 people including three children from Eritrea were discovered in the trailer of the HGV at the Magna Park industrial estate.
The Home Office has released more details and a spokesperson told HFM: “On Thursday, 8 February 2024 there was a lorry drop of 20 Eritrean illegal entrants in Lutterworth.
“Of these, three were claimed minors and 14 females.
“They were routed into asylum accommodation with eleven relocated to the East Midlands area and the rest in Coventry covered by West Midlands.
“Screening has been arranged for Friday, 16 February 2024 for the ones in the East Midlands area.”
A man arrested by Leicestershire Police in connection was the incident was released without charge.
