Clipston Children’s Author Nominated For Top Award

An author from Clipston has been shortlisted for a Waterstones Children’s Book Prize.

Emily-Jane Clark is one of just six people nominated in the Books for Younger Readers Category of the book retailer’s awards, after publishing her first book last year.

‘The Beasts of Knobbly Bottom: Attack of the Vampire Sheep is the hilarious story about a girl who moves from Leicester to the countryside and soon discovers her new home is full of secrets.

Emily-Jane Clark, who had previously written sketches for TV shows including Mock the Week and The Jonathan Ross Show, wrote the story after promising her two children she would  pen a book for kids.

She told HFM how it feels to have been nominated by Waterstones:

The results will be announced at an awards ceremony in London next month.
