Driver Escapes Serious Injury After Lorry Overturns On A14

Police say a lorry driver was not seriously injured when his vehicle overturned on the A14 near Welford early this morning.
It happened at junction one on the westbound carriageway just before 6.30am.

No other vehicles were involved and a spokesperson for Northants Police told HFM: “The driver of the HGV suffered injuries to his wrist and has been taken to hospital as a precaution. No major injuries sustained.”
The incident led to long queues after the carriageway was initially fully and then partially closed, to allow recovery work to take place.
Drivers were also prevented from getting onto the A14, as the entry sliproad was closed.
