A14 Closure Due To ‘Concerns For Welfare Of Driver’

Northamptonshire Police have revealed the reason why a section of the A14 was closed for over three hours yesterday.

Concerns for the welfare of a driver led officers to close the eastbound carriageway, between junction two near Kelmarsh and junction three at Rothwell.

Police and East Midlands Ambulance Service were called to a layby at just after 1pm and officers say the incident was resolved and the road reopened shortly before 5pm.

Some drivers were stuck in-between the two junctions while the incident was on-going, while the closure led to congestion on the diversion route through Market Harborough.
