Town Urged To Show Support As Cup Fever Hits Harborough

It’s a big day for Harborough Town Football Club as they take on Chelmsford City in the second round of the FA Trophy.

The Bees are at home to the National League South side and people of the town are being encouraged to go along and support the team.

It is the furthest Harborough have ever got in the competition and go into the tie sitting proudly on top of Northern Premier League Midlands Division, following their 6-0 win at Gresley Rovers in midweek.

Their opponents Chelmsford are sixth in their own division and unbeaten in seven games, winning the last two away from home.

Kick-off at the Community Football Ground is 3pm and Harborough Town Manager Mitch Austin said: “Our First Team are once again making history for the town of Market Harborough and really putting the club on the map of non-league football.

“As football supporters, I ask you to come down to the Beehive to be our 12th man and get behind the team to see if we can make more history as we host higher league opposition in the form of Chelmsford City FC in the 2nd round proper of the Isuzu FA Trophy.

“With no Premier League and limited EFL matches taking place, Leicester City fans, Northampton Town fans and anyone else holding season tickets for a football league club, why not spend your Saturday afternoon down at the Beehive watching football, supporting your local team.

“To our younger supporters, I know you will be there in your numbers remember, be loud, be proud and sing your hearts out!”

Admission is £10 for adults, £5 for concessions and under-16s get in for £2.
