Wilko Staff Thank Customers As Store Closes For Final Time

Staff at Wilko in Market Harborough have thanked customers after the store closed for good yesterday.

A hand-written sign was placed at the entrance to the shop in St Mary’s Place, as shoppers went in for the final time.

The shop has been a long-standing fixture of the shopping centre and 24 workers are being made redundant, with tomorrow being their final day of employment.

These customers told HFM they feel for the staff and will miss them:

Around 400 Wilko stores nationwide will shut over the next few weeks with over 9,000 job losses, after administrators were unable to find a buyer for the homeware retailer,
