Police Descend On Town Centre After Security Van Alert

Police descended on Market Harborough town centre earlier today when a security cash van started telling people to call for help.
Passers-by heard the loud alarm and recorded message saying ‘Help, help, driver requires assistance, call the police’ sounding from the parked G4S vehicle.
Leicestershire Police say a number of 999 calls were made at 12,30pm from people concerned the driver was being robbed.
A spokesperson told HFM officers attended the area to discover the alarm had been set-off by mistake and there was no need for concern.
