Council Launches Search For New Chief Executive

A search has been launched for Harborough District Council’s new Chief Executive.
The position comes with a salary of over £118,000 and is available after councillors last year rejected a cost-saving plan to share a Chief Executive and other senior members of staff with Melton Borough Council.

The move was narrowly voted down amid concerns including staff not having enough time to dedicate to Harborough matters.
An advert for the role of Chief Executive says: “The council is led by a new administration, built on collaboration, with exciting new plans for the whole district.
“We are seeking a new chief executive to take us on the next step on this journey, working with us to deliver our vision for the communities we serve.
“We already have great engagement with residents which shape the places they live, as our 30 neighbourhood plans show.
“We want to build on this to ensure that the voice of those communities is reflected in the services we deliver and that they shape our priorities. Our history is wonderful, our future exciting!”
Interim Chief Executive Liz Elliott current holds the post.
The closing date for applicants is the end of July.
