Lutterworth Man Pleads Guilty To Attempted Murder

A Lutterworth man has admitted attempted murder after stabbing a woman at a house in Blaby.

The victim, aged in her 20s, suffered multiple stab wounds and was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery.

Appearing at Leicester Crown Court, Kane Brooks, 24, of Feilding Way, also pleaded guilty to the unlawful wounding of an 18-year-old man, who was also stabbed during the incident on March 15th.

Police had been called to the property in Enderby Road by East Midlands Ambulance Service, who reported that two people had been stabbed.

Brookes had fled from the scene.

Information received led to Police locating him nearby shortly after the incident, where he was arrested before later being charged.

The victims and Brookes were all known to each other and Detective Constable Mike Sime said: “This was a horrific incident in which a young woman and man both suffered horrendous injuries.

“Brookes’ early guilty plea means the victims now do not need to give evidence at court but they still live each day reminded of what Brookes did to them. My thoughts remain with them both at this time as they try to continue forward with their lives.”

Brookes was remanded into custody and is due to be sentenced in October.
