Hundreds Back ‘Market Harborough For Warm Homes’ Campaign

Written by on 26th May 2023

300 people have backed a campaign in Market Harborough calling on the government to do more to help those struggling with energy costs.

They have all signed a petition launched by Harborough Climate Action, in support of a nationwide campaign by Friends of the Earth.

The ‘Market Harborough for Warm Homes’ campaign is calling for more financial support for those facing unaffordable bills, a programme to better insulate homes and a better plan to move away from fossil fuels to renewable energy.

The group will be continuing to seek signatures when they host a stall on The Square tomorrow and people will also be encouraged to get involved with the ‘Knit A House Cosy’ project, which is helping to highlight the campaign.
