Harborough Runners Complete Rob Burrows Leeds Marathon

A veteran runner from Market Harborough is celebrating completing the first ever Rob Burrows Leeds Marathon.
Peter Leach, 76, crossed the finish line in just under six-and-a-half hours, placing himself 4th overall in the Men’s Over 75 age group and 22nd among the over-70 age group.

The avid long distance runner, who was one of the founding members of Harborough Athletics Club, raised over £700 in sponsorship for the Motor Neurone Disease charity appeal.
The 26-mile event on Sunday in support of motor neurone disease charities, honoured former Leeds Rhinos rugby legend Rob, who was diagnosed with MND in 2019.
Peter says he is greatly appreciative to each and everybody who contributed to his marathon journey
Meanwhile, Red Williams from Market Harborough was also one of the 12,000 participants in the run, which was his 21st marathon.
The former Harborough Mail reporter completed the course in a great time of just over four-and-a-half hours.
