Call For Speed Cameras On A47 Through Harborough District

There are calls for average speed cameras to be installed on the A47 through the Harborough District.
Highway bosses are currently conducting a safety review of the stretch of road, after two people died in separate collisions earlier this year.
Simon Galton, the councillor for the area, spoke to HFM after Leicestershire County Council agreed to fund further community speed camera schemes:

A county council spokesperson told HFM: “Leicestershire County Council will be carrying out a review of the A47.
“Like all of our safety work, the review will focus on assessing the latest evidence around a number of factors such as speed and accident data.
“The outcome of that work will determine if interventions are necessary.”
