Technical Glitch Hits Schools Admissions Portal

Leicestershire County Council is working to fix issues with its on-line schools admissions portal after parents were prevented from finding out which school their child will be attending.

Today is known as ‘national offer day’ where decisions on secondary school places are made available.

Parents should have been able to log-on to the portal from midnight, but technical problems have disrupted the service.

While work to resolve the problem continues, the council says all parents it has email addresses for are being sent a letter which confirms their child’s place.
