Students at Robert Smyth Academy in Market Harborough have raised over £2,000 for charity after holding a 24-hour non-stop sports marathon.
140 youngsters took part in over 12 activities during the ‘lock-in’ event at the end of last week, each representing different countries, with sponsorship going to the UK Sepsis Trust.
Northampton Saints rugby player Ollie Sleightholme and ex Leicester City Ladies captain Holly Morgan visited during the fundraiser to cheer them on.

Head of PE Mike Skully said: “It was fantastic to see the return of our popular “Lock in” having missed it in 2021 and 2022 due to Covid.
“The students were once again fantastic throughout and there was an excellent atmosphere at the event.
“I am extremely grateful to the staff at Robert Smyth who supported the running of this event and we look forward to raising a lot of money for an extremely important charity.
“I was grateful for the support from Ollie Sleightholme and Holly Morgan, along with Brian Davies from the UK Sepsis Trust, with the opening ceremony”
