Villagers Unhappy ‘Community Plaza’ Plan Could Be Scrapped

Residents in Fleckney are unhappy plans to create a ‘community plaza’ in the centre of the village could be scrapped.

Developers were granted permission to redevelop land off the High Street as part of a new homes scheme three years ago, but now want to build houses there instead.

The plaza area would have included space for shops and businesses,

A new planning application for the site includes building eight new semi-detached homes and a village community square.

18 people have so far lodged objections with Harborough District Council, many saying additional retail is badly needed due to the increasing number of new homes in the village.
