Festive Season To Begin In Desborough With Gala Night & Christmas Tree Festival

Desborough town centre is set to be packed with people this evening when the popular Christmas gala night takes place.
This year’s evening of fun will include stalls along Station Road, funfair rides, refreshments, musical entertainment and an appearance from Father Christmas.
Organised by Desborough Town Council, the event begins with a lights switch-on at 6pm and will run until 8pm.
Today also marks the start of the popular Christmas Tree Festival at St Giles Church in the town, which is thought to be the longest-running event of its kind in the country.
The three-day festival at St Giles Church is now in its 24th year and will see dozens of trees decorated by local groups on display across the weekend.
It is open today between 3.30pm to 9pm, Saturday from 10am to 6pm and Sunday from 11.30am to 5.30pm.
Admission is £2.50 (under 16s free)
