Hundreds Turn Out For Christmas Lights Switch-On In Market Harborough

Hundreds of people turned out for Market Harborough’s Christmas Lights switch-on on Friday evening.

The event, hosted by HFM and organised by Harborough District Council, included performances from the area’s Rock Choir and singer Anne-Marie Marlow.

Market Harborough Building Society provided the Christmas Tree on The Square this year and Chief Executive Iain Kirkpatrick was also at the event, as was Santa and his team of helpers from the Market Harborough scouts.

Pupils for nine primary schools in and around Market Harborough decorated baubles on the tree.

Cllr Neil Bannister, Chairman of Harborough District Council flicked the big switch to turn on the lights and spoke to HFM’s Nick Shaw afterwards:
