Pumpkin Fest Encourages People To Eat Their Pumpkins!

A free event to encourage people to eat their pumpkins is taking place in Market Harborough.

Pumpkin Fest is on at the Eco Village on St Mary’s Road for the next week, to teach people all the tricks to get the best treats from a pumpkin, whilst saving money and helping the planet.

The Village has teamed up with environmental charity Hubbub and Windmill Farm Park in Kibworth to host the event, after research found over 22 million pumpkins are set to be thrown away in the UK after Halloween.

Delicious pumpkin recipes are being showcased throughout the week, there are free recipe books available; and staff will be working with schoolchildren to share the story of ‘Patricia the Pumpkin,’ with visits to Market Harborough CofE academy, Foxton Primary and Welford Primary Schools.
