School Steps In To Give Harborough Charity New Base

A charity in Market Harborough can continue its vital work a school stepped in to help.
The C of E Academy has given the Hygiene Bank storage space in a spare office, after volunteers were given just two weeks’ notice to vacate their previous base.
It means the charity can carry on supporting people struggling to afford basic items like deodorant and shampoo, which is on the rise due to the cost of living crisis.

The Hygiene Bank is also thanking the town’s Congregational Church, which offered rent-free space while the search for a new permanent home took place.
Judy Rowley, coordinator of the local group of the charity, spoke to HFM:
The Hygiene Bank continues to appeal for donations of new, unused toiletries like soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes, sanitary products, shampoo, deodorants, hairbrushes and hairbands, as well asunopened cleaning products.
They can be donated at various locations around the town including collection bins at Sainsbury’s, Boots and Nationwide.
