Harborough’s Business Leaders Welcome Energy Bill Support For Firms

Harborough’s business leaders and council officials are welcoming the government’s announcement to support firms with rising energy costs.
They will see their energy bills cut by at least half this winter, compared to the current estimates of wholesale costs.
Schools, hospitals, care homes, charities and public sector organisations are also covered by the non-domestic cap on electricity and gas prices, which will last for at least 6 months.
Kira Williams, President of Market Harborough Chamber of Trade and Commerce, told HFM the help will be a big relief to many businesses in and around Market Harborough:
Harborough District Council had budgeted for its energy costs to increase by around £100,000 annually.
