School Safety Trial Begins As Traffic Banned At Drop-Off & Pick-Up Times

A trial aimed at boosting the safety of schoolchildren has begun today in Thurnby.
Main Street outside St Luke’s Primary School is being closed to traffic at drop-off and pick-up times for the next four weeks.

Leicestershire County Council hope it will also encourage more pupils to walk, cycle or scoot to and from school.
If the trial is a success the idea could be extended to other schools.
