Harborough MP’s has resigned as a government minister and urged Boris Johnson to step down.
Conservative Neil O’Brien has quit as Levelling Up minister and told the Prime Minister he must step aside for the good of the party and the country.
Mr O’Brien, who had previously pledged his full support to Boris Johnson, has signed a joint resignation letter with four other ministers and Tweeted this:
It's been an honour to work on the vital Levelling Up agenda, with a team of brilliant and dedicated officials…
Even more so to work for for an absolutely phenomenal Secretary of State in Michael Gove, and for a PM who has got many things right.
But we can't go on like this. pic.twitter.com/2isjostZ8k
