Solar Panel Scheme Proves Popular Across Harborough

Over 1,500 people across Harborough have registered interest in getting discounted solar panels on their homes.
The ‘Solar Together’ scheme was launched earlier this year to encourage people to consider the idea.
It encourages residents to come together to invest in renewables through a group-buying scheme, so installations can be offered at the best possible price, from pre-approved installers.
1,518 registrations have been made by residents in the Harborough District, which is just under 20% of all the 8.153 made across Leicestershire.
It is thought the rising cost of energy bills has led to a higher than expected interest in the initiative.
Registration for the scheme has now closed and the next steps will be revealed next month.
