Man Suffers Suspected Spinal Injuries After Fall At Building Site

A man suffered suspected spinal injuries after falling from height at a building site in Fleckney.
Emergency services were called to Freer Road just after 3.30pm yesterday.
The worker fell onto scaffolding and firefighters, including a specialist rescue team, lowered him to safety before he was taken to hospital.
In its report of the incident, Leicestershire Fire and Rescue service said: “Upon arrival incident confirmed as male fallen from height on to narrow scaffolding at roof height, male had suspected spinal injuries.
“Fire service formulated rescue plan in conjunction with EMAS and building site staff.
“Casualty was rescued from scaffolding by fire service using scoop stretcher in co ordination with on site staff and conveyed to Leicester Royal Infirmary via land ambulance.”
