Last Chance To Comment On Potential Changes To Bin Collections

There are just a few days left to have your say on potential changes to household waste and recycling services across Harborough.

Moving black bin collections to every three weeks is one option being considered, along with introducing food waste collections, having separate containers for different recyclables, and scrapping charges for collecting garden waste.

The Leicestershire Waste Partnership, which Harborough District Council is part of, wants to create a uniformed waste service across the county and boost recycling levels at the same time.

Thousands of people have already taken part in the consultation, which ends on Monday.

Councillor Joe Orson, leader of Melton Borough Council and spokesperson for Leicestershire Waste Partnership, said:  “This is an important consultation which asks residents, businesses and communities to share their views on how we can deliver future waste services, and create a cleaner, greener Leicestershire.

“I’m looking forward to seeing the results, which will help to inform how Leicestershire will use its resources more efficiently and become a net zero carbon county.”
