Aid Donated In Great Bowden Reaches People In Ukraine

Thousands of items donated to an appeal launched in Great Bowden are starting to be distributed to people affected by the war in Ukraine.
There was amazing response, with clothes, medical supplies and items for babies among things donated during a two-day collection in the village earlier this month.

They were delivered by lorry yesterday to a warehouse in Hungary, close to the Ukrainian border, being run by the Ukrainian Ministry of Health.
Oliver Le Sueur, who set-up the Harborough and Northants Ukraine Appeal, liaised with an official from the Ministry, Agnessa, to coordinate the delivery.

Collections also took place at Haselbech Church and teams of volunteers worked tirelessly to sort them all before they began the journey to Hungary.
Thousands of pounds has also been donated to a Justgiving page, so further medical supplies can be purchased and sent to Ukraine.
