Driver Arrested After Crash In Market Harborough

A driver was arrested after a car crashed on Farndon Road in Market Harborough on Saturday night.

Police say the 40-year-old man left the scene on foot, but was detained by officers a short time later on suspicion of drink-driving, criminal damage and a racially aggravated public order offence.

Officers, who were called at 11.10pm, say the criminal damage offence relates to an an incident afterwards, when the door of a taxi was kicked and dented.

Firefighters also attended the scene, after the Mercedes collided with bollards at the side of the road and was left badly damaged.

No other vehicles were involved and man had been released pending further investigations.
