CCTV To Be Installed At Welland Park Within Weeks

CCTV will be installed in Market Harborough’s Welland Park in the next few weeks in a bid to boost safety.

Six cameras will be put up in a project joint-funded by Harborough District Council and Leicestershire’s Police and Crime Commissioner, through money secured from the government.

The cameras, set to be installed by the end of March, will be linked to the central control room in Market Harborough.

Cllr Simon Whelband, Harborough District Council’s cabinet lead on Community Safety, spoke to Hfm:

Money secured by Police and Crime Commissioner Rupert Matthews will also contribute towards installing new CCTV at Warwick Park in Kibworth, following problems with anti-social behaviour and work to install a new camera at Little Bowden Recreation Ground will also take place shortly.
