Naseby Square Re-Development Moves Closer

Written by on 7th January 2022

The controversial redevelopment of an elderly people’s housing scheme in Market Harborough has moved closer.

Harborough District Council has completed the sale of land it owns at Naseby Square on the southern estate to Platform Housing Group.

The housing association will build 38 new affordable homes on the site and hopes to appoint a contractor for the construction work by the end of next month.

13 bungalows will be demolished as part of the redevelopment – the occupants of which have already been re-housed.

The go-ahead for the scheme was given last year, despite major opposition, including over 800 people signing petitions against it.

Bungalows will be demolished when the redevelopment project begins
