Plea For Pupils To Wear Face Coverings Again As Covid Rates Rise
Written by HFM News on 24th November 2021
Secondary school pupils across Harborough are being urged to wear face coverings in communal areas in a bid to stop the spread of Coronavirus.
Public health bosses have written to parents and headteachers, as infection rates in the district and throughout Leicestershire hit the highest levels seen during the pandemic.
A large number of positive cases are in school-age childfren.
Wearing face coverings in school communal areas is not currently required within Government advice, after it was withdrawn earlier this year, however, schools can introduce them as an additional measure if felt necessary.
Mike Sandys, Director of Public Health for Leicestershire, is asking for the additional measure to be kept in place for the rest of this term, though the situation will be regularly reviewed.
