Written by HFM News on 17th November 2021
A school in Kibworth is trying to find the family of a WW1 soldier after a memorial plaque dedicated to him was found in a cupboard.
It was discovered at Kibworth Mead Academy and is a tribute to Gunner Frank Herbert Kirby, who was killed in action in France on May 6th 1917, aged 26.
It is not known how the plaque came to be at the school, or how long it has been there for.
If you can help re-unite it with Gnr Kirby’s family, please contact the Humanities department at Kibworth Mead Academy.
