People Invited To Help Shape Future Of Market Harborough
Written by HFM News on 12th October 2021
People are being given the chance to help shape the future of Market Harborough over the next few years.
A new Neighbourhood Plan is to be created to help map out where new homes, shops and offices should go.
People over 18 who live or work in the town are being invited to join a Neighbourhood Forum, which is being formed to help produce the plan.
Once it’s ready the wider public will be invited to have their say, before a poll is held to see if it can be adopted.
Cllr Phil King, who leads the council, said: “As a council, we have led the way on neighbourhood planning which gives real grassroots power to local communities to decide how their neighbourhood evolves.
“We know planning and development can be an emotive issue.
“But this is a direct opportunity for people in Market Harborough to contribute to this important process and produce something that genuinely represents the range of wants and needs in the town.”
People who would like to be involved should email neighbourhoodplans@harborough.gov.uk by Tuesday November 30.
