Students Left Stranded In Kibworth As Buses Fail To Arrive

Students were left stranded in Kibworth Beauchamp this morning as buses bypassed the centre of the village.

Youngsters and others waiting for the X3 services towards Market Harborough and Leicester say there was no prior warning services would only be serving stops on the A6.

They also say other bus services were serving stops within the village, as they had to try and get lifts to get to school and college.

Operator Arriva says buses had to divert due to roadworks in Station Road/Church Street, although are now running as normal.

A spokesperson told Hfm: “Issues this morning with this service were related to the roadworks in place and unfortunately our morning buses could not access the road, therefore an alternative route had to be found.

“We cannot speak for other operators and if they did/didn’t continue to access the road. Arriva was advised not to do so.

“Access has now been granted for the road and our buses are serving stops along it, again.”
