Extent Of Covid-19 Support For Harborough Businesses Revealed

Grants totalling £5.1m have been handed out to over 1,000 businesses across Harborough since April, to help them bounce back from the impact of the pandemic.
The District Council has distributed the cash on behalf of the government, through a number of different grant schemes, including over £4m as part of the ‘re-start’ initiative – set-up to help the non-essential retail, hospitality and leisure sectors.
A total of 1089 grants have been issued to business in the district during the past five months, with Council staff praised for processing payments quickly.
