Harborough Business Park Expansion Plan Set To Move Forward
Written by HFM News on 6th September 2021
The major expansion of a Market Harborough business park is set to move forward as a planning application is prepared.
Leicestershire County Council wants to build 27 new units at Airfield Business Park off Harborough Road, as the current 12 as now all occupied.
The development would cost around £9.5m, although money generated from rent would support front-line services provided by the authority.
Councillor Lee Breckon, cabinet member for resources, said: “We are delighted with the success of the Airfield Business Park which has been so well received by local firms. It is clear that demand is there for further similar units and we are confident that extending the site would bring benefits to both local businesses and the wider community.
“The income stream this sort of venture provides, helps to increase our financial resilience at a time when additional central government funding is not forthcoming despite increasing demand for frontline services and local infrastructure.”
The planning application, when submitted, will be considered by Harborough District Council.
