Around 400 tonnes of hay bales worth £30,000 were deliberately set alight in a field near East Carlton on Saturday evening.
Fire crews from Desborough, Kettering and Corby spend several hours tackling the blaze, after being called to a field on Pipewell Road, off the A427, at 8.20pm.

The arsonist targeted a large number of bales which had been stacked up ready to be moved.
A spokesperson for Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service told Hfm: “Crews used one hose reel jet and worked with the farmers to create a fire break to prevent the fire from spreading into the neighbouring field.
“We continued to monitor the incident hourly on Sunday and have returned this morning at 7.15am to carry out a further after fire inspection to determine the cause and ensure no further risk.”
Police are appealing for information and witnesses – a spokesperson for Northamptonshire Police said: “The fire is believed to have started shortly before 8pm and it is believed the fire was started deliberately, due to the location.
“Due to its isolated location and officers believe the offender/s would have either driven or walked across fields to get to the bales. They would like to speak to anyone who may have seen a vehicle parked suspiciously near to the field on Saturday evening or who may have seen anyone walking across surrounding fields.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Northamptonshire Police on 101, or alternatively call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Incident number: 21000516017.
